Admission procedure


Taken on the basis of selection test called Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test. (JNVST).
Nature of test: Non verbal and class neutral.
Medium of test: Twenty Indian Languages.
Publicity: Through Doordarshan, Local News Papers, Cable network, pamphlets and visit of JNV teachers to schools.

 
Eligibility


Children studying in class V.
Passed class III, IV and V in preceding years without gap/break.
Age between 9 and 13 years.
Not allowed to appear in the selection text for the second time under any circumstances.
Claim of rural quota entertained only for the candidate studied class III, IV and V in rural area school.

Reservation

Area wise : Rural: Urban – 75% : 25%
Gender wise : Boys : Girls – 67% : 33%
Category wise : ST and ST – Minimum 15% and 7% ; Maximum 50% for both the categories taken together.
Physically Handicapped : 3%

Prepared by the office of the Principal, J.N.V. and issued to the candidates through the office of the respective B.E.O.
